Advice for Teens with Parents in Prison

What advice would you give to a teenager whose father or mother was in prison for a long period of time? I feel like a lot of teenagers have parent(s) in jail of prison and don’t know how to cope. How would you suggest they cope? Would you recommend them still having a relationship with the parents even if they did some really bad things? What would be your advice and how would you recommend they learn from the mistakes of their parents?
